About Lindsay and Her Teaching Philosophy:

Hello!

I’m Lindsay Priest, the owner, teacher, and operator of Lindsay’s Preschool and Childcare right here in Jackson, Michigan (Northwest School District). I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and Development and feel incredibly fortunate to use both my education and years of hands-on experience to teach, nurture, and support the amazing children and families that I work with, every day.

Along with running LP&C, I’m a children’s book author and passionate child advocate. My growing book series focuses on recognizing and addressing the signs of child abuse in ways that children can understand and adults can use as a tool for awareness and prevention. Protecting children, educating families, and creating safe environments has always been at the heart of everything I do.

At Lindsay’s Preschool and Childcare, my mission is to provide a safe, healthy, and inclusive space where children can grow, explore, and truly feel seen and supported. I believe that early learning is a partnership with families, working together to build strong foundations for lifelong growth.

My program is built on the values of kindness, independence, respect, and inclusion. We celebrate diversity and teach children to appreciate different cultures, perspectives, and traditions. By nurturing empathy and understanding, I help children learn to treat others, and themselves, with compassion and respect.

Through our structured daily schedule, creative curriculum/nature based lesson plans and real-world experiences, children develop the tools that they need to become confident, functional, and capable members of society. At LP&C, we focus on connection, independence, kindness, and inclusion in everything we do, helping to shape a generation of thoughtful, caring, and empowered young learners.

I’m also proud to be actively involved in our community, partnering with incredible local organizations like Gems of Jackson Childcare, Apex Sports, Jaxon’s Playhouse, and many more, to help enrich opportunities for children and families throughout Jackson and the surrounding areas. I absolutely love getting out into the community to collaborate, serve, and make a positive impact wherever I can.
